Gregory J. Ferra is a Partner at Liff, Walsh & Simmons and serves as the leader of the firm’s Estate Planning & Administration practice, serving individuals and families throughout Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and across Maryland. His practice has a particular focus on business and real estate succession planning, helping clients plan thoughtfully for the future while protecting their families, assets, and businesses.
Greg is deeply passionate about his work and is energized every day by the challenge of finding creative, thoughtful solutions for his clients. He thrives on tackling complex legal issues and takes pride in developing novel strategies that balance competing interests and help clients move forward with confidence. Greg’s practice is intentionally centered on both estate planning and estate administration, including complex and contentious matters, allowing him to guide Maryland clients not only in preparing comprehensive estate plans, but also through some of life’s most difficult transitions. He is especially known for his ability to manage relationships and navigate sensitive family and business dynamics with care, clarity, and practicality.
Greg earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, graduating with honors in 2012. He has been with Liff, Walsh & Simmons since 2011, when he joined the firm as a law clerk. During that time, Greg worked across each of the firm’s practice areas, ultimately discovering his professional niche in estates and trusts. When offered the opportunity to become an associate, Greg enthusiastically embraced the role and went on to build the firm’s Estate Planning & Administration practice from the ground up, establishing a trusted estate planning resource for clients in Annapolis and throughout Maryland.
In recognition of his work, Greg has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star each year since 2018 and was selected as a Leading Lawyer by What’s Up? Media from 2024 through 2026.
Outside of the office, Greg enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. As a family, they love being outdoors and can often be found hunting, hiking, or exploring together.
