Job Title: Associate Attorney – Litigation
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Prepare, review, and present legal documents, ensuring the best interests of our clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions. Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and tailor legal strategies accordingly.
- Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation matters.
- Analyze and summarize legal information to assist in building strong case strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Prepare and organize exhibits, affidavits, and other supporting documents for court filings.
- Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical case files.
- Prepare and file court documents, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
- Monitor court dockets and deadlines to keep the team informed and prepared.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as directed by Partners.
- Assist in preparing correspondence and communication related to litigation matters.
- Provide general support to attorneys during trial preparation and court proceedings.
- Assist in the preparation of deposition summaries and trial exhibits.
- Apply analytical skills to identify and assist in resolving issues; proactively suggest appropriate solutions and recommendations to enhance final work
- Draft engagement letters and assist with client invoicing and expense recovery.
- Complete special projects, and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership and in good standing with the MD State Bar.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on litigation.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Possess working knowledge of NLRB rules and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
- The ideal candidate will be driven, self-motivated with the ability to work and lead a team.
Salary Requirements: $85K – $140K based on experience
